FROM SWEDEN, OUR GOOD FRIEND AT PADEL NORDICS, LUIS MIGUEL PEREZ ALONSO, HAS WRITTEN AN EXCELLENT ARTICLE ABOUT PADEL, WE ARE HAPPY TO SHARE IT WITH YOU.
THE SPORT OF PADEL
Padel is perfect for those who wants to start with some kind of physical activity, but do not fancy ways of exercise like jogging, workout in a gym, skiing, swimming, playing golf or tennis etc. During one hour play of padel you will experience the fun of the sport together with 3 other players, at the same time as your physical ability will benefit.
Padel is best described as playing ”tennis with walls”, but on a smaller court measuring 20 meters x 10 meters with 3 meter walls around the court. Padel is a racket sport, a fun combination of tennis and squash, where the rules are similar to tennis. The court is divided in the middle with a net similar to the net used in tennis.
Padel is:
- exciting, social, and entertaining when playing two on two.
- affordable, and very easy to learn
- not physical demanding and 1 hour play is normal for excersice
The ball used is the same size as a tennis ball, but with less airpressure resulting in a slower action than a normal tennisball. The racket is built in a type of material which is reducing the ball speed compared to tennis. These abilities makes the game easy to learn for everyone. In 15 minutes an unexperienced player will have reached a skill level sufficient to really enjoy the game together with experienced players. We believe that in opposition to the game of squash, tennis and golf, playing padel will be more easy to learn in a shorter time. And in play two on two there is a lot of laughter and fun during the game.
